The police brutality protests might not be slowing down.
We may be seeing a development in how NFL players are choosing to protest police violence. After pulling off a late interception that basically secured a Redskins victory over the 49ers, Kendall Fuller immediately raised his hands as his teammates appeared to pat him down and escort him off the field with his hands clasped behind his back, as though he was cuffed.
This comes after a couple weeks of speculation about whether or not the NFL would require players to stand for the national anthem. If it is an extension of the protests started by Colin Kaepernick, then it’s a bold message to team owners and NFL management across the league: instead of stopping, the protests will just get more creative.
